After effects II

I did some more work on the same test piece and that's how it looks now: 







Please let me know what you think about them and keep in mind that they are just tests- I used them to try different decoration techniques before I start working on the real thing :)

I'm still not sure about the results but maybe it's just the matter of adjusting the colours.
Anyway I am quite happy with this test over all because I got few new ideas out of it :)

Porcelain Paperclay

I still don't know exactly how my finished pieces are going to look like but I know that I want to make something light and translucent. That is why I had decided to work in porcelain.  Some of the forms can be too difficult to construct in porcelain without risking that they will collaps in the kiln.  In order to overcome this obstacle I had prepared some paperclay which is lighter and hopefully will keep the shape better.  First I cut porcelain in small pieces and let them get bone dry. Then I crushed them even more and added water to make smooth slip. When I had porcelain slip prepared I teared up some toilet paper and soaked it in hot water. After some time I sieved it and mixed with porcelain slip.

Something different

It's almost Christmas time and I was given a chance to take part in Craft Fair organized on  Limerick's Milkmarket. It was an experience all right but I don't think I want to carry on with this type of sells...  I have sold just few stars and I am deeply disappointed. There were simply no people there, I don't know what was the reason... maybe it's because of the recession.... Well anyway here is the stuff I was trying to sell, hope you like it :

Artist in Residency
